This film is intense, brooding, and dark. Based on a stage play, which in turn was inspired from real events. Concerning the rape/murder of a woman by three brothers, the film's story does not even show the crime itself, but is even the more powerful for it. Rather, it concentrates on the emotional poverty and violence in the male world the boys/men inhabit. A stunningly taut and spare soundtrack by The Necks augments the atmosphere even further.
