A gentle film which evokes the atmosphere of adolescence in the boarding school environment without falling into the easy cliches of the genre. A notable early performance from would-be star Kidman, but mainly carried by the excellent lead role of Taylor. Considered to be the sequel of 'The Year My Voice Broke', an equally unique and impressive film also by Duigan.
