A classic Australian film about the iconic Battle of Gallipoli where Australian troops faced overwhelming odds attempting to land at, then capture a beach peninsula in Turkey as par of an ultimately futile sub-campaign of WWI. The film traces the friendship of two country boys as they sign up to war. Each of the boys is a sprinter, a theme that builds to an incredible climax, accompanied by the brilliant musical score by Jean Michel Jarre.
