Martin is a blind photographer(!), who records proof of his experiences, then gets others to describe them to him. Celia is the housekeeper who torments him. Andy befriends Martin, and becomes his trusted interpreter. But friendship and loyalties are tested in this sweet and clever debut from Moorhouse. Weaving and Crowe give standout performances which foreshadow their ensuing sucess both in Australia and overseas. An outstanding film.
